Words enter into the eyeball… Are translated via chemical and electrical signals… Are understood… Deposited in multiple places, one being the subconscious (if it even exists)… Where it is abstracted and used by the self (if that even exists)… To make sense of the material world (if it exists)… Then made into symbols to express what the words were expressing in the first place (if this even exists)…
The tangible is interpreted by the nervous system, which creates a language to interpret the tangible…
